Preparation Details
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes
Total Time: 50 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Difficulty Level: Medium
Best Served: Hot
Ingredients
- 500 g beef strips (sirloin preferred)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 300 g egg noodles (cooked)
Making Process – Step-by-Step
Step 1: Cooking the Beef
Begin by heating butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add the beef strips and cook for about 5–7 minutes until the beef becomes brown. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking. Once done, remove the beef from the pan and set it aside. This helps keep the beef tender.
Step 2: Cooking the Vegetables
In the same pan, add onions, garlic, and mushrooms. Cook for about 5 minutes until the vegetables become soft. This step builds the main flavor of the dish.
Step 3: Preparing the Sauce
Add flour and stir well. Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring continuously. Allow the sauce to cook for 5 minutes until it thickens. Then add sour cream, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a creamy sauce.
Step 4: Combining and Serving
Add the cooked beef back into the sauce and cook for another 5 minutes. Serve hot over cooked egg noodles.
Friday (Day After Thanksgiving)
Focus: Rest, Decorate for Christmas + Enjoy
- Make Turkey Soup or Sandwiches with leftovers.
- Reheat casseroles for brunch.
- Enjoy leftover cocktails chilled
- Decorate for Christmas! It’s time. I’m more of a Cyber Monday shopper
Ending the Night:
Deck the halls with Mom’s popcorn and cranberry garland
Every year we sit by the fir and string popcorn and cranberry garland strands for our family tree. It’s the perfect way to end Thanksgiving night and one of my favorite traditions!
We make our strands using moms sewing kit, just a needle and string. They are so fun and easy to make!
